New Home for COPE's Women's Residential Treatment Program
In 2010 Project COPE will renovate a formerly abandoned building at 66 Johnson Street and move the women’s residential treatment program there. “It will have much more of a home-like feel to it for woman in recovery and their babies," said Project COPE Executive Mark Kennard. “This will improve the quality of the neighborhood, increase property values, and lower crime rates. This is a positive development for COPE, the neighborhood and the city of Lynn.”
"After a great deal of planning, we have developed architectural drawings of the new space and a cost estimate of approximately $600,000. We are receiving financial support through a mortgage from St. Jean's Credit union for $325,000 but will need to raise the additional funds," Kennard said.
